It’s dark, ruby-red in color, with a grape jelly consistency and whole cranberry texture. A new flavor accompaniment for turkey. It can be made with fresh or bottled concord grape juice.
Ingredients
- 8 cups GW Granulated Sugar
- 2 cups Concord grape juice (2 Ibs. fresh grapes)
- 2 cups whole cranberries (1/2 Ib.)
- 1 tsp. grated orange
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 pkg. powdered fruit pectin
Preparation
- In a wide, flat-bottomed preserving kettle combine grape juice, whole cranberries, orange rind, lemon juice and water
- Add powdered pectin and mix well
- Place over high head; bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly
- Blend in GW Granulated Sugar, continuing to stir as mixture is brought back to rolling boil
- Boil 2 minutes
- Remove from heat
- Skim
- Pour into hot, sterilized jelly glasses
