Apple juice, canned or bottled, is always available, so pick the berries at their best!
Ingredients
- 4 cups GW Granulated Sugar
- 2 cups halved strawberries
- 2 cups (1 pt.) canned or bottled apple juice
- 2 Tbs. strained lemon juice
- 1 pkg (2 1/2 oz) powdered fruit pectin
Preparation
- Wash, hull, halve strawberries
- Combine drained berries and juices in kettle
- Add pectin and mix well
- Bring to a rolling boil over high head, stirring constantly
- Blend in GW Granulated Sugar, continuing to stir as mixture is brought back to a rolling boil
- Boil 1 or 2 minutes (according to general jelly directions in pectin brand pamphlet)
- Remove from heat; skim
- Pour into hot sterilized glasses
*Makes about 5 8-ounce glasses
