Position Overview

 

The Western Sugar Cooperative has a challenging opportunity for a Supply Chain Specialist.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Be a safety leader with solid safety behaviors and demonstrated leadership
  • Develop/create production plans to meet customer needs and inventory goals, modify as needed
  • Review capacity and develop a capacity report to identify time periods when capacity could impact the production department’s ability to meet demand
  • Work with production and planning team to resolve scheduling and performance issues. Monitor and evaluate production statistics, such as downtime, productivity, scrap, etc. and advise on performance to standards
  • Create and maintains forecast models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, and finance
  • Assist in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
  • Assist with implementing new more efficient processes and support special projects as needed. Analyze data related to all areas of supply chain
  • Create inter-factory shipments to match finished goods to customer orders and to maintain warehouse capacity for package machine efficiency support
  • Prepare profitability by customer reports and update required tables in SAP
  • Expedite “trouble” orders with Customer Service and Transportation
  • Provide support for transportation claims and recovery
  • Liaison between 3PL and other freight agents to edit, change, and confirm deliveries
  • Follow-up on late orders and rejected trailers
  • Analyze data related to all areas of our logistics operations

 

Skill & Experience Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of data analysis experience in manufacturing or logistics
  • Self-starter and possess the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent organizational, prioritizing, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Analytical, detail oriented, accurate, timely with attention to detail
  • Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent computer competence (outlook, word, PowerPoint, excel, SAP)
  • APIC’s certification is preferred
  • Experienced with SAP
  • Strong customer focus mind-set
  • Friendly, results oriented, and collaborative
