Position Overview

The Western Sugar Cooperative has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable professional who brings experience in efficiently analyzing, processing, and paying vendor invoices.  This position will coordinate with our purchasing team, and storerooms, and outside vendors and suppliers to ensure that our procure to pay processes result in on-time payments and that past due and disputed invoices and payments are followed up timely.  This position will also laisse with our corporate controlling team to ensure that invoices are properly recorded and that reporting and analysis of our procure to pay performance is measured and reported timely.


Essential Functions

  • Review, code, and post vendor invoices in SAP daily.
  • Proactively engage with outside vendors and internal team members to resolve issues to ensure invoices are processed and paid timely.
  • Periodically review open purchase orders and goods receipts vs invoice receipts (GR/IR) accounts and follow-up on past due items.
  • Review expense accounts by vendor monthly and prepare accruals to Corporate Controlling.
  • Ensure policies are followed and correct approvals and sign off on all invoices.



Skill & Experience Requirements

  • Engaging, results oriented, and collaborative team player.
  • Degree in Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounts payable processing.
  • Experience in SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of sales and use tax law.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive and effective corporate communications skills, desire to collaborate across multiple work groups.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
