The Walleye Tournament is a fishing tournament held at Lake Minatare. Scottsbluff Employees, Lyle Belgum and Paul Sierra, organized the tournament again this year. On June 22, 2018, Brandon Hessler and Jerry Darnell hosted a delegation from China. They shared information about the sugar beet industry and discussed sugar production.
On June 7th, students from Rwanda visited the Scottsbluff factory. The students were visiting Western Nebraska in an effort to develop the next generation of Rwandan agriculture.
